“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.” --Sylvia Plath

Lightning crashes . . .

I feel I've been slacking on posts lately, and I have ideas and things I want to share right now, but I don't have much time because I have to shower before Little One wakes up. We have some appointments to keep today. In the mean time, I'll share a song you've most likely heard, but I like it and the lyrics make me feel all wishy-washy because it's about a baby being born and it's June now and last June my baby was born and yadda yadda yadda. . . you get the idea.

lightning crashes, a new mother cries
her placenta falls to the floor
the angel opens her eyes
the confusion sets in
before the doctor can even close the door
.
lightning crashes, an old mother dies
her intentions fall to the floor
the angel closes her eyes
the confusion that was hers
belongs now, to the baby down the hall
.
oh now feel it comin' back again
like a rollin' thunder chasing the wind
forces pullin' from the center of the earth again
I can feel it.
.
lightning crashes, a new mother cries
this moment she's been waiting for
the angel opens her eyes
pale blue colored iris,
presents the circle
and puts the glory out to hide, hide

I just remember holding Evelyn, her face all swollen, and seeing those eyes look up at me, stare at me, confused.
