“I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.” --Sylvia Plath

Back from Vacation

Perhaps you've noticed that today is Sunday and I haven't posted since Wednesday. Perhaps you haven't. Either way, my explanation is that I was on a mini family vacation with limited internet access. But now I'm back home and back to regular programming.

Just an observation: On our five hour drive home today, mostly through rural Wisconsin, the top 4 most sighted sites were the following:

1. BP gas stations--really, almost every tiny unincorporated town had one
2. Churches (mostly Baptist or Catholic)
3. Cows
4. Billboards for McDonald's

2 comments:

  1. Woo-Hoo!
You saw everything wrong with America!

    1. Oil addiction
    2. Religion
    3. Cows (spin this anyway you want: obesity rates, global warming, famine, oil addiction)
    4. Micky D's speaks for itself.
